DRAWINGS A DAY

ABOUT DRAWING A DAY:

The Drawing-A -Day project started with a group of friends and fellow artists at MSU. We all decided to do something a day for 45 days. Sukha and Kathleen made prints every day, Shannon made a rubbing of concrete or ice every day, and I finished a drawing each day. We met every week to share what we had made. At the end of 45 days I was not ready to stop, so I continued on. At the end of April I hit 100 days, and in the middle of June I reached 150, and on January 13th, 2010, I completed 365 drawings.

These drawing are small portriats of people in my life. Some are close family and friends, others are people from my past or friends I haven't talked to in years. The portraits represent the people who make up the world in which I live. They are my connections.

Forty weeks into the project, I exhibited all of the drawings up to that point at the Waller Yoblonsky Gallery in Bozeman, Montana. The show was titled A Drawing a Day for 40 Weeks. 280 Days. 280 Drawings.

After I completed a year of drawings, I explored different ways of exhibiting the project. I published a book titled "1.14.2009 - 1.13.2010. 365 Days. 365 Drawings."

Examples of the drawings can be viewed by clicking the link to the right.
